Competitors App watches more. ScoutRival does more.
Let’s be straight: Competitors App sees more of your rival’s world than we do — every newsletter they send, their reviews, their traffic curve, even TikTok. If pure surveillance is what you want, it’s a good product and we’ll say so. But it hands you a report, and it charges you per competitor — so watching five costs $74.75/mo at their July promo rate, and $149.50 at list. ScoutRival is $29 flat for five, and at the end of our day the article is already written.

The meter
Their price goes up every time you get curious.
Here is the thing almost nobody notices until the second invoice: Competitors App bills you per competitor. Not per account — per rival, per month. So the fifth competitor you’d quite like to keep an eye on isn’t free. It’s another line on the bill.
On their Business tier that’s $14.95 each at the July promo rate — five rivals is $74.75 a month. At the list price they show struck through, the same five are $149.50. And LinkedIn isn’t included: it’s another $6.95 per competitor. Watching your market gets more expensive the more of it you want to watch.
ScoutRival is $29 flat and five competitors are simply in it. Thirty of them are in the Agency plan. We don’t charge you for being curious — and at 7am you get a brief that says what moved, what it means, and the three things to do before lunch.

A report tells you you’re behind. It doesn’t catch you up.
This is the whole comparison, and it’s worth sitting with for a second. Competitors App will tell you — accurately, thoroughly, daily — that your rival published a piece on emergency callouts, changed their pricing page, and picked up eleven new reviews. Then the email ends.
And you are exactly where you were, except now you know. You still have to decide what to do, still have to write the thing, still have to get it live — at eleven at night, after the last job. That gap between knowing and doing is where small businesses quietly lose, and no amount of extra monitoring closes it.
ScoutRival writes the 1,000–5,000-word article in your brand voice, built from the gap it found, with the answer block AI engines quote and the FAQ schema Google reads — plus the social posts for every platform — and then publishes it to your WordPress in one click.

The engines, honestly
Nobody is asking whether ChatGPT recommends you.
Your customers have started asking an AI engine who the best option is, and the engine answers with three names. We found no AI-search visibility tracking anywhere in Competitors App — no measurement of whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude or Gemini put you on that list.
ScoutRival asks all four the questions your customers actually type, records whether you were named, and tracks it over time. Then it runs a 27-check SEO audit of your own site, graded A–F, with fix cards — because Competitors App audits your rivals, not you.

Before you decide
Which one of these is you?
Buy Competitors App
You have someone whose job this is.
There's a marketer or an SEO specialist on your payroll.
You need keyword research, backlink analysis and rank tracking — we don't have a keyword database at all.
Somebody has the hours to turn a report into a published article.
Their data is the best there is. If that's your situation, it's the better buy — and we'd rather you knew now than after the refund.
orBuy ScoutRival
Nobody there does marketing full-time.
You want to be told what to do today — not handed forty tabs of data.
You want the post and the article written, not recommended.
You want one bill, one login, and to be live in five minutes.
No — and this is the single most misread number in the category. Their pricing is per competitor, per month. The $29.90 you may have seen is the struck-through list price for one competitor on their Business tier; the July 2026 promo rate is $14.95. Five competitors is $74.75/mo at the promo rate and $149.50 at list — and LinkedIn is another $6.95 each on top. ScoutRival’s $29 includes five, flat.
What do they watch that you don’t?
Quite a lot, honestly. They capture your competitor’s emails and newsletters — every promo, every onboarding sequence — which we don’t do at all and which is genuinely useful. They also monitor reviews from 100+ sites (on Business Plus), traffic estimates, PR mentions and TikTok. We watch six channels: website/blog, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube, plus the founder’s LinkedIn. Narrower — but we act on what we find.
So why would I choose ScoutRival?
Because a report is not a plan. Their day ends with an email telling you what your rival did. Ours ends with the article written, the social posts drafted, and a Publish button — plus a 27-check SEO audit of your own site and four AI engines telling you whether they recommend you. If you have someone whose job is to read reports and act on them, buy theirs. If that someone was always going to be you, at eleven at night, buy ours.
What about refunds?
We’ll just lay out both facts and let you judge. Their pricing page displays a “money back guaranteed” badge, with no terms attached to it. Their Terms & Conditions, section 2.5, state: “A paid account can be canceled at any time, but no refunds will be given.” Both were read from their own site in July 2026. ScoutRival’s guarantee is written down: 14 days, every paid plan, no argument.
They have a free trial and you don’t. Isn’t that better?
It’s a fair point and we won’t dodge it — they offer 15 days free, self-serve, no card friction. We ask you to pay and give you 14 days to get your money back, which is a slightly higher bar to clear. We do it that way because the product needs a few days of real competitor data to be worth anything, and free trials tend to end before the first brief ever lands. But if trying before paying matters to you, that’s a genuine mark in their favour.
How current are these numbers?
Every figure was read from their own pricing page in July 2026, including the page source. One caution we’ll pass on: their site quotes different prices in different places — the homepage says $19.90 while the pricing page says $14.95 with $29.90 struck through — so we cite the pricing page only. If any of this is stale or unfair, including if you work there, tell us and we’ll correct it.
