Honest comparisons.
Even the ones we lose.

Every tool below does something well — some do one thing better than we do, and we say so on the page. What none of them do is watch your competitors, decide what you should do about it today, write it, and publish it. That's the whole product.

The short answer

ScoutRival is a marketing command center for service businesses with no marketing team. It watches your competitors across six channels, turns what it finds into a Daily Brief of what to do today, writes the social posts and the long-form SEO article, audits your SEO and your visibility in AI search, and publishes to WordPress — from one $89 seat. The tools below are mostly measurement tools, built for people who already know what to do with the data. ScoutRival is built for the owner who doesn't.

Four reasons to buy something else.

We'd rather lose the sale than the trust. If one of these is your actual problem, the tool named is the better purchase — and we say so on its page too.

You need to schedule and post to social.

ScoutRival writes the posts. It does not publish or schedule them to Instagram, Facebook, X or LinkedIn — WordPress only. Buffer or Publer do this properly for $5–$10/mo.

You need deep keyword & backlink data.

Ahrefs and Semrush have twenty years of index behind them. We have none of it, and we won't pretend otherwise. If your job is “show me every keyword my rival ranks for” — buy theirs.

You need reviews, listings or the map pack.

We don't do review management, Google Business Profile posting, or local citations at all. BrightLocal does, from about $39/mo, and does it well.

AI-search visibility is your only job.

We check 4 engines. Rankscale checks 17+, and Knowatoa does 7 for $59. If tracking AI visibility is the whole reason you're buying, they beat us on the merits.

And you still wouldn't get a brief.

We checked 35 tools for these pages. Not one produces a daily, prioritized “here's what to do today” brief. They ship dashboards — and a dashboard assumes there's a marketer around to read it.

That assumption is the whole gap. It's also why their own customers keep writing the same review: “it tells you what's broken, but relies on you to fix it elsewhere.”

How we compare

Our rules for these pages.

What we promise on every comparison page

  • Every price is dated and sourced. We link to the vendor's own pricing page and stamp the date we checked it. We re-verify monthly — with our own scraper, which is a little on the nose.
  • We name what they're better at. Every page has a “choose them if…” section, and we mean it. A table we won 14–0 would tell you more about us than about them.
  • We never mark a feature absent when it exists on another tier. If it's an add-on, we say “add-on” and name the price.
  • No logos, no screenshots, no scraped ratings. Plain names, plain facts.
  • We tell you what we can't do. No social scheduling. No review management. No Google Business Profile. No keyword or backlink database. It's on every page, not buried in an FAQ.
