Send your daily brief to Discord.
Click Connect Discord, pick the server and channel, authorize. About fifteen seconds — there is nothing to create, copy or paste.
ScoutRival connects to Discord the way any Discord app does: you authorize it once on Discord's own screen, choosing the server and the channel it may post to. Your brief then lands in that channel every morning at the hour you set.
You used to have to create a Webhook by hand in your server settings and paste the URL. You don't any more — Discord's own authorization screen does it for you. The webhook method still works if you prefer it, or if you don't have permission to add apps to the server.

Connect Discord
Channels → Discord
In ScoutRival, open Channels and choose Discord from the channel list.
Set your delivery time
Pick the hour and timezone you want the brief to arrive. (One schedule per brand — set it here and every channel for that brand follows it.)
Click Connect Discord
A small window opens on discord.com. If you aren't signed in to Discord in that browser, Discord asks you to sign in first — that's Discord's login, not ours.
Pick your server and channel, then Authorize
Discord's screen has a server picker and a channel picker — choose where the brief should land (e.g. #marketing) and click Authorize. The window closes by itself and the channel appears in your list.
Click Test
Hit Test on the new channel — a sample brief lands in Discord within a few seconds. That proves the whole path works without waiting for tomorrow morning.
What ScoutRival can and can't see
ScoutRival asks Discord for one permission, and it is the narrowest one Discord offers:
- Post messages to the one channel you picked. That's it.
- It cannot read your messages — not in that channel, not anywhere. Discord never grants us that access.
- It cannot post anywhere else. The permission is bound to the single channel you chose on the authorization screen.
- It cannot ping your server. Briefs quote competitor copy, so we explicitly disable all mentions — an
@everyonethat appears inside quoted text will never notify anyone.
Change the channel, or disconnect
- Different channel? Click Connect Discord again and pick the new one. ScoutRival removes the previous connection for that channel as it saves the new one, so you don't end up with the brief arriving twice.
- Pause it for a while? Use the pause button on the channel — it stops delivery without losing the connection.
- Remove it entirely? Delete the channel in ScoutRival — that also deletes the webhook Discord created for it. Deleting it on the Discord side works too.
Advanced: connect with a webhook
Adding an app to a Discord server needs the Manage Webhooks permission. Without it the channel picker on Discord's screen comes up empty. If that happens — or if you simply prefer to wire it up yourself — ScoutRival offers a Still stuck? Paste a webhook URL instead link under the error, which opens a field for a webhook you create.
Open the channel's integrations
In your Discord server, hover the target channel → click the gear (Edit Channel) → Integrations → Webhooks.
New Webhook
Click New Webhook, name it “ScoutRival”, and confirm the channel it posts to.
Copy the Webhook URL and paste it in
Click Copy Webhook URL, then paste it into the field in ScoutRival and click Add channel. It looks like this:

A webhook URL is the credential — anyone who has it can post to that channel. Don't share it or leave it visible in a screenshot. It also means a valid-looking URL is accepted immediately without being called, so a typo'd one will sit there looking connected while every brief silently fails. Always hit Test.
Your daily brief now posts to that Discord channel at your chosen hour.
Troubleshooting
- The channel picker is empty. You need Manage Webhooks on that server. Ask an admin, pick a server you manage, or use the webhook method.
- “That Discord link expired.” The authorization window is only valid for a few minutes. Click Connect Discord again.
- “Maximum of 15 webhooks.” That's a Discord limit per channel, not ours. Delete an unused one (Channel → Edit → Integrations → Webhooks) or pick a different channel.
- Deliveries stopped and the history shows a failure. The webhook was deleted on the Discord side. That is permanent — reconnect rather than waiting for it to recover.
- “You need editor access on this brand.” That's a ScoutRival permission, not a Discord one. Ask an admin on your team to connect it, or to raise your role.
- Nothing arrived this morning. Check the delivery hour and timezone on the Channels page, and use Test to prove the path independently of the schedule. Test sends →
