Connect Google Search Console.

Link your Google Search Console account so ScoutRival can show your real search performance — clicks, impressions, positions, and top queries — and use it to power your SEO score. Read-only, takes under a minute.

Google Search Console holds the ground truth of how your site performs in Google — impressions, clicks, average position, and the exact queries you rank for. Connecting it lets ScoutRival read that data (read-only) and fold it straight into your SEO & AI Visibility reports.

Video walkthrough coming soon. The written steps below cover everything in the meantime.

Connect your account

1

Open SEO & AI Visibility → Traffic

In ScoutRival, go to SEO & AI Visibility, then open the Traffic tab. This is the tab that reads your Search Console data.

2

Click Connect Google Search Console

Hit the Connect Google Search Console button. A Google window opens asking you to choose an account and grant access.

3

Choose your account & allow read-only access

Pick the Google account that owns your Search Console property, review the permission — it's read-only Search Console access plus your basic profile — and click Continue.

During our beta you may briefly see a “Google hasn't verified this app” screen. That's expected while Google finishes reviewing ScoutRival — click Advanced → Continue to ScoutRival. It disappears once verification completes.

4

You're connected

Google sends you straight back to ScoutRival. If you own more than one property, pick the site you want, and the Traffic tab fills with your data.

// DONE

Your Search Console is now connected. ScoutRival refreshes your metrics automatically, and they feed into your SEO score and recommendations.

What you'll see

Once connected, the Traffic tab shows your real Search Console data, and your SEO score starts using it:

  • Clicks & impressions — how often you appear in Google results and how often people click through.
  • Average position — where you typically rank across your tracked queries.
  • Top queries — the searches actually sending you traffic, so you know what's working.
  • Indexed pages — which of your pages Google has in its index.

Privacy & disconnecting

We only use this data to display it back to you and to power your reports:

  • Access is read-only (webmasters.readonly) — ScoutRival can't add, edit, or delete anything in your Search Console.
  • We store your connection encrypted and cache the metrics to render your dashboards.
  • We never sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
  • You can disconnect anytime from the Traffic tab, which revokes our access — or remove it directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Full details are in our Privacy Policy → Google user data.

Troubleshooting

  • “Google hasn't verified this app”? Expected during our beta — click Advanced → Continue to ScoutRival. It's read-only access and the warning goes away once Google finishes verifying us.
  • Traffic tab is empty after connecting? Make sure the site is verified in your Google Search Console account under the Google account you connected. Brand-new properties also need a few days before Google has data to show.
  • Wrong Google account? Disconnect on the Traffic tab, then reconnect and choose the correct account.
  • Connection stopped working? Just reconnect from the Traffic tab — it re-authorizes in a few seconds.
